Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed or for production costs.
  • The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of Maluku Province in July 2024 was 101.70 or down 4.17 percent compared to June 2024 which was recorded at 106.13. The decrease in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have fallen by 3.92 percent and an increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 0.27 percent.
  • In July 2024, Maluku Province was ranked 30th out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 101.70. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 187.47; while the lowest NTP occurred in Bali Province at 99.44.
  • Two sub-sectors recorded a decrease in NTP, namely the people's plantation sub-sector (-10.47 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (-0.53 percent). Meanwhile, three other sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (1.74 percent), the horticulture sub-sector (4.42 percent) and the fisheries sub-sector (0.24 percent).
  • In July 2024, there was an increase in IKRT by 0.29 percent.
  • The NTUP of Maluku Province in July 2024 decreased by 3.95 percent compared to June 2024, namely from 116.24 to 111.64.
