Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib). NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of Maluku Province in January 2025 was 102.92 or an increase of 2.64 percent compared to December 2024 which was recorded at 100.27. The increase in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded as increasing by 2.82 percent and an increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded as 0.17 percent. In January 2025, Maluku Province was ranked 32nd out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 102.92. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 197.75; while the lowest NTP occurred in Central Papua Province at 100.14.

It was recorded that three subsectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the horticulture subsector (9.71 percent), the people's plantation subsector (3.70 percent), and the livestock subsector (0.02 percent). Meanwhile, two other subsectors experienced a decrease in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (-1.32 percent), and the fisheries subsector (-1.02 percent). In January 2025, there was an increase in IKRT of 0.17 percent.

The NTUP of Maluku Province in January 2025 increased by 2.47 percent compared to December 2024, namely from 108.62 to 111.31
