Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
  • The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for Maluku Province in June 2024 was 106.13 or down 0.19 percent compared to May 2024 which was recorded at 106.33. The decline in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have increased by 0.62 percent, lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 0.81 percent.
  • In June 2024, Maluku Province will be in 26th place out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 106.13. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 181.17; while the lowest NTP occurred in Southwest Papua Province at 98.77.
  • It was recorded that two subsectors experienced a decrease in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (-1.39 percent) and the fisheries subsector (-1.76 percent). Meanwhile, three other sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the horticulture subsector (0.09 percent), the smallholder plantation crops subsector (0.53 percent) and the livestock subsector (0.25 percent).
  • In June 2024, the IKRT will increase by 0.84 percent.
  • Maluku Province's NTUP in June 2024 experienced an increase of 0.09 percent compared to May 2024, namely from 116.13 to 116.24.
