Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed or for production costs.
  • The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of Maluku Province in August 2024 was 99.93 or down 1.74 percent compared to July 2024 which was recorded at 101.70. The decrease in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have fallen by 2.00 percent and a decrease in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 0.27 percent.
  • In August 2024, Maluku Province was ranked 36th out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 99.93. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 185.19; while the lowest NTP occurred in Bali Province at 98.30.
  • It was recorded that all subsectors experienced a decline in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (-1.09 percent), horticulture subsector (-0.45 percent), people's plantation subsector (-3.07 percent), livestock subsector (-0.20 percent), and fisheries subsector (-0.28 percent).
