Abstract

In August 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Maluku Province was 2.58 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.54. The highest inflation (y-on-y) occurred in Ambon City at 3.46 percent with a CPI of 107.37 and the lowest occurred in Central Maluku Regency at 1.38 percent with a CPI of 105.11.
Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in 10 expenditure group indices, namely: food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 7.89 percent; personal care and other services group by 7.03 percent; health group by 6.60 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 2.63 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.55 percent; education group by 1.64 percent; transportation group by 1.58 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.80 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.71 percent; and housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.55 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: information, communication, and financial services group by 0.16 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in Maluku Province in August 2024 was 0.34 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.85 percent
