Abstract

In September 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Maluku Province was 1.79 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.47. The highest inflation (y-on-y) occurred in Ambon City at 2.66 percent with a CPI of 106.99 and the lowest occurred in Tual City at 0.59 percent with a CPI of 107.31.
Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in 10 expenditure group indices, namely: the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 8.17 percent; the health group by 7.34 percent; the personal care and other services group by 6.74 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 2.54 percent; the transportation group by 2.14 percent; the education group by 0.78 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.76 percent; the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.40 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.38 percent; and food, beverages and tobacco group by 0.24 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: information, communication, and financial services group by 0.18 percent. The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in Maluku Province in September 2024 was 0.07 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.79 percent.
