Abstract

In July 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Maluku Province was 2.71 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.90. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon City at 3.17 percent with a CPI of 107.43 and the lowest occurred in Central Maluku Regency at 2.03 percent with a CPI of 105.91.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in 10 expenditure group indices, namely: the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 6.52 percent; the personal care and other services group by 6.04 percent; the health group by 4.71 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.86 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 3.02 percent; the education group by 1.64 percent; the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.48 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.63 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.56 percent; and transportation group by 0.48 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: information, communication, and financial services group by 0.13 percent. The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in Maluku Province in July 2024 was 0.82 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.19 percent.
